Historic Paris
Our association has a long tradition of lecture tours. They are led by volunteer lecturers who are passionate about the history of Paris, its sites, its buildings and its heritage. Our lecturers also shed light on the lives (and often the work) of the men and women who have shaped the capital of France.
Their commitments
Committed to the preservation and enhancement of historic Paris, paris historique's mission is to preserve the built heritage of Paris so that it continues to blend harmoniously into the capital of today and tomorrow. It's a challenge that the association, its volunteers and its members have been taking up since 1963. Born out of the dynamism of the Festival du Marais, Historic Paris is a non-profit association under the law of 1901. While respecting everyone's sensibilities, Paris historique is committed to protecting the districts of Paris. To this end, it works to promote an open concept of urban balance. Thanks to the presence of its president, Grégory Chaumet, on the various institutional conservation committees, Historic Paris remains vigilant regarding construction and demolition projects, as well as the architectural, social and commercial mix in the districts (in particular against the encroachment of mono-activity).
